Wes Shelton-Managing Director-SM2 Advisors
Wes joined SM2 Advisors in 2011 and manages the day-to-day operations of the firm. SM2 Advisors is a boutique sell-side M&A advisory firm that helps owners of lower middle market companies, generally $5 million to $100 million in enterprise value, plan for and execute successful business exits.
As Managing Director, Wes leads clients through every stage of the deal-making process, from exit readiness planning and valuation through buyer outreach, negotiation, and closing. He provides his clients with a broad base of business experience and a strong background in finance, real estate, and transactional analysis, managing hundreds of transactions nationally and internationally.
Prior to his time at SM2 Advisors, Wes served a vital role in the competitive oil and gas industry, helping launch and grow Leor Energy from a virtual unknown to a thriving E+P enterprise that sold for over 2.5 billion dollars in 2007.
Wes earned his bachelor’s degree from Southern Methodist University (SMU) in Dallas, Texas and an M.B.A. in Finance from the H. Wayne Huizenga College of Business at Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
He has served on numerous non-profit boards including The Heart Gallery of Broward County where he was Chairman from 2009 to 2012. Wes also hosts the “Like a Champion” podcast where he interviews successful business owners and entrepreneurs all around the Country.
Wes enjoys Golf, Tennis, Soccer, Outdoor Cooking and spending time with his wife Kelli, two children (Huntley-19, Kendall-17) and dogs CJ and Milo.
